4. Resolve and Resolutions by Julie Hargreaves
Does your year start with good intentions, bright ideas and hope for
your dreams and wishes to be fulfilled this year?
Have you made your list of New Year Resolutions with perhaps an underlying
thought that they aren't likely to make it to the end of January?
Does your list contain mainly a lot of things you are TRYING TO GIVE
UP?
Let me help you make a start on this year with a list of resolutions
that you are more likely to keep and more likely to achieve.
After the festive feasting, I bet most people have a diet related resolution,
so let's use that as an example. Usual ones are on the lines of:
.. I will try to lose weight
.. I will Lose x kilos/pounds
.. I will cut out chocolate/sweets/junk food/booze
These are doomed to failure from the start because they are stated
in a way that focuses on what is not wanted (ie weight) or what has
to be sacrificed to achieve them. They are also vague in their expected
outcome. Even stating how much you want to lose, which at least quantifies
the aim, is still focusing on what you don't want. Imagine if you jumped
in to a boxing ring and your opponent is your excess flab or the junk
food you are trying to avoid eating. You are locked in to that fight
until one of you wins. Your attention is only focused on what you are
trying to beat and it is hard work, punishing, bruising as you fight
and fight to win. When you have to fight so hard, it is no wonder you
keep losing the battle of the bulge or give in to be free of the fight!
Another failure point is in using the word TRY in your resolution.
TRY lacks any form of commitment - it says you will TRY - it doesn't
say you will SUCCEED.
However, if you think about what it is you actually want to BE and
state a resolution with that as a goal, then you are making a positive
statement and focusing your attention on your aims and not the process
of getting there. This revised resolution could be stated as:
.. Be a size 14
.. Be able to fit into my wedding outfit/clothes I wore 5 years ago
These resolutions now have a clear goal to aim for and they are focusing
your attention on a positive state of BEING. There is no focus on what
you may or may not have to give up in order to achieve it (which would
only act as an anchor and hold you back from achieving it).
The next thing you can do to help the process along is to put a time
frame on the resolution, so that it is clear when you are going to achieve
it. Otherwise it is just some wishful idea that may or may not come
true, sometime, maybe, whenever .... Of course, you need to be realistic
- you can't drop 5 dress sizes in a week (not without surgery anyway!),
so give yourself reasonable goals to achieve.
So now your resolution should look something like these:
.. Become a size 14 by June 1st.
.. Be able to fit in my swimsuit by the summer vacation.
.. Be able to wear my outfit for my wedding, without need of corsetry.
It is then just a small step to work out a plan of how you are going
to get there. By breaking the resolution down into smaller stages, you
can work out your best way to achieve your aim. If you gave yourself
6 months say, to reach your goal - you can work out a monthly programme
to help you mark your progress, build in rewards, get support from others
or whatever it will take to keep you on track.
With resolution and planning you can help yourself towards the commitment
you made on the 1st of January. And, that's THE MOST significant thing
that that you just did - state your New Year's Resolution as a COMMITMENT
and not as a mere wish. Most new year resolutions fail, because they
lack any form of commitment to them.
Something else to bear in mind when making this year's resolutions,
is to be realistic about how much you can commit to. If you try and
do too much all at once, you may set yourself up for failure, simply
because you are overloaded. Changing all of your life at one go may
be necessary occasionally, but usually, change can be handled more comfortably,
if taken one step at a time. So, when you have made your list, look
at the commitments as a whole and see if there are going to be conflicting
goals. If you are taking on more than you might manage, nominate which
ones might be put on a backburner if the going gets tough, or put a
priority on each one, so that it is clear which goals are the most important
to YOU.
Forget the WISH LIST - be RESOLUTE and COMMIT to your NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS.

6. NUMEROLOGY FORECAST for 2005
To determine your forecast for this
year, do the following simple sum:
Add together the day and month number from your date of birth eg 13th
August is 13 + 8 = 21 or 4th January is 4 + 1 = 5
If your answer is greater than 9, then add each digit in the number
together, eg 21 is 2 + 1 = 3; 10 is 1 + 0 = 1; 38 is 3 + 8 = 11 (for
this one you will need to do the addition again of 11 is 1 + 1 = 2)
So if your final result is equal to 3, go to the number 3 in the following
list for your forecast for this year.
ONE
---
This is a year of rapid change as we emerge from a consolidating trough
on the steep rise towards our next peak and the commencement of the
new cycle of growth and prosperity. Many new opportunities manifest
under this vibration as we assert our independence with growing wisdom.
For some, it will be in the form of a significant improvement in their
financial affairs. For the majority, there will emerge a heightened
spiritual independence in which they recognise how much emotional control
and understanding they have achieved and how much more emphasis they
now place on living (acting), rather than existing (reacting).
TWO
---
This year is both the end of the old cycle and the commencement of the
new. At the forefront of the major peak in the nine-year Personal Year
Cycle, it is the year in which change is set into motion. However, many
aspects of the change(s) will not always be realised until later in
the year or during the following year.
General aspects of this year include travel, change of home and/or
job and the making of new and exciting friendships, often accompanied
by the termination of some older relationships we have since outgrown.
It is also an excellent year for the squaring of old debts and for extending
the hand of peace to anyone with whom we might be at variance. A strong
sense of humanitarian responsibility, tolerance and improved understanding
will noticeably prevail during this year.
THREE
-----
This is an extremely powerful "doing" year for personal growth
and expression as we adjust to the changes wrought during the previous
year. The power of this year encourages us to dare to be different as
we improve in self-confidence. This is an excellent year for the breaking
of old habits. Indeed, adaptation to a new lifestyle invariably demands
such severance.
It is an especially powerful year for improving ourselves financially
and for buying and selling on a wide scale, such as with real estate,
business interests and investments. However, the most significant and
permanent successes will only be achieved when people's motives are
genuinely for the common good, free of personal greed and recklessness.
FOUR
----
This is a year in which its own nature of power can cause many a turbulent
personality to embrace calmness. Spiritual development is the primary
feature of this year with an enhanced awareness of life's more subtle
qualities. Rather than being a year of major change, it is one in which
the development of emotional control, spiritual awareness and accentuated
intuition can be expected.
Central to the growth under this year's vibration is the need to actively
develop the power of meditation. By this means, more than any other,
the body's cellular alignment is restored to achieve the inner power
we all desire as our limitless energy reserve and our magnetic essence.
By this means, we learn to be in command of our emotions, to act rather
than react, to replace uncertainty and doubt with confidence and security,
to wisely discriminate between the more important and the less important
aspects of our daily living.
Following the two previous years of progress, some people develop a
tendency of resting on their laurels or lapsing into complacency. It
is then that negativity grasps the opportunity to develop those reactive
emotions of fear, nervousness, argumentativeness and insecurity that
can sometimes manifest in the most unexpected ways to make an otherwise
likeable person seem quite obnoxious or unbearably power-crazed. Realise
it is a year for co-operation, for working together in one or more partnerships
(home, work, sports, etc). To satisfactorily achieve this, we need to
be more loving and more accepting - further growth aspects of this year.
FIVE
----
This year of surprisingly intensified mental power provides the appropriate
rounded development for this portion of the Person Year Cycle. Under
this vibration, your thinking and observing faculties are attuned to
an acute peak of alertness. It is a year when the intellect thirsts
for knowledge and expression. For some, it could involve studies of
an academic nature; others might prefer to investigate life and its
philosophies; yet others might seek enlightenment through personal growth.
The usual means of mental expansion in this year are either by the
commencement of an educational course or by extensive travel. Each can
be beneficial, the choice being determined by one's individuality and
environmental factors. Whatever the choice, it is important to realise
that this year is one in which the further development of memory is
vital, for the vibration of "3" is the gateway to the mind
through the attribute of memory.
You should always realise that memory is the foundation of self-esteem
and self-confidence, as well as the bridge between our conscious and
unconscious minds. The continual alertness and growing capacity of your
memory invariably distinguishes between the ageing and the ageless people.
On the lighter side of this year, recognise the need for balance by
ensuring that time is allowed in our lives for humour and happy occasions,
for bright company and the appreciation of a good joke.
SIX
---
Physical and material factors dominate this trough year. Rest and stability
are vital to the regeneration of the nerve energy to consolidate the
previous five years' development. It is a year of squaring, when everything
is brought to a reckoning and the unwanted aspects are eliminated, as
a vine is pruned in winter to make way for the coming new growth the
following spring.
This is an ideal year for the integrating of basic self (body and emotions)
with conscious self (thoughts and ideas) to high self (the eternal soul).
Those who do not follow the need for allowing time to relax and adjust
could find themselves in a state of disharmony, leading to frustration,
confusion and fear. Any attempt at major changes in our affairs or lifestyle
during this year are rarely successful, leading instead to material
losses in either finances or health - or both.
People who are usually regarded as being highly strung, whose nerves
are ever tense and whose sensitivities are constantly acute, should
be especially careful to avoid any disharmonies in their dealings with
others during this year. For them, a relaxed vacation will be most beneficial.
SEVEN
-----
Spiritual and emotional factors prevail in this year, rather than it
being one of material progress. Its vibrations span the gap between
last year's trough and next year's creative mini-peak, inducing the
power of freedom, generated by heightened psychic awareness and personal
expression. This leads to the development of our talents to achieve
release from material and social confinement, replacing them with a
new focus on artistic expression, whether for a hobby or professionally.
Some have launched the basis for a new career under this vibration.
Others have discovered their freedom in a change of home, moving to
the country and away from city confinement.
EIGHT
-----
This is the year of the mini-peak, focusing an accumulation of power
that seeks vent through one's creative time investment. Creative new
projects undertaken this year will have the most favourable aspects
for success, especially if their underlying principle is directed towards
the upliftment of humankind. It is a year in which the formation of
any worthwhile business undertaking will considerably benefit.
It is also a year of focus on the home and on personal relationships.
Creative activities related to the home will receive a significant boost
under this vibration. In the area of relationships, many are either
secured or released as their underlying integrity casts free of any
falseness or negativity. Persisting with such undesirable traits will
ensure this a most difficult year, inducing intense anxiety, arguments
and hatred.
Clearly, the lesson of this year is to come to terms with facts as
they are, with personal honesty and integrity and with total positivity.
Then it will be a most rewarding year, crowned by happiness, creative
achievement and sound financial success.
NINE
----
This is a trough year of consolidation when no major change should be
undertaken. However, it is a highly significant year in which we learn
to intensely focus on previous years' growth with a view to the better
understanding of our life. As such, it is a vital year for learning
through personal experience. For many, this implies sacrifice, induced
by their failure to recognise and apply guidance from the higher powers
and their own natural wisdom. By thus living reactively and thoughtlessly,
people expose themselves to the need for firm corrective measures -
prompt karma, we might call it. Such sacrifices invariably result in
the loss of money, health and/or love. Such sacrifices always have purpose,
for they are designed to awaken and return us to the Path.
It is wise to avoid any major changes in financial or domestic affairs
during this year, for it is a period of stabilisation, as opposed to
expansion, of pruning the "dead wood" to make way for the
new growth of the ensuing years. It is also a powerful teaching/sharing
year in which frequent opportunities present themselves for guiding
others towards our level of understanding.
