1. INSPIRATIONAL QUOTATIONS:
"Money will buy a pretty dog, but it won't buy the wag of it's
tail", Josh Billings
"Money may be the husk of many things, but not the kernel. It
brings you food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; acquaintances,
but not friends; servants, but not loyalty; day of joy, but not peace
or happiness", Henrik Ibsen
"We make a living by what we get but we make a life by what we
give", Winston Churchill
"Until one feels the spirit of Christmas, there is no Christmas.
All else is outward display--so much tinsel and decorations. For it
isn't the holly, it isn't the snow. It isn't the tree not the firelight's
glow. It's the warmth that comes to the hearts of men when the Christmas
spirit returns again." Unknown

4. ARTICLE "Re-awakening and questioning"
by Nahwinga
Today, people all over the world are searching for the solutions of
the mysteries of life and death. They are trying to discover what lies
beyond this physical world. Recently published books and magazines,
as well as conferences organised to investigate these subjects, show
that interest in spiritual pursuits is growing. More and more people
are striving to achieve contentment and spiritual fulfilment. The search
for this fulfilment is leading these people to reject long held religious
beliefs and they will no longer accept, without question, the authority
of the churches. It is felt by many that the churches, as well as our
civic leaders, are losing touch with the needs of society, especially
those of our youth.
But the path to this fulfilment is not an easy one because we are living
in a world that mostly follows the worship of Assets, Wealth & Power.
It is full of hatred, racism, discrimination, and violence of all kinds,
(including war) and has little respect for human rights. It also gives
little, if any thought to the rights of all other non-human energy sources
that share this planet with us. (Other animal forms, trees, vegetation
of all types, rocks, mountains, rivers, etc ). It also has scant regard
for the environment, filling it with toxic gases and destroying forests,
those wonderful sanctuaries filled with spiritual energy, all over the
world in the name of "progress."
In the materialistic world, everyone is expected to accept, without
question, the reality of that society as it is presented to them. Those
who cannot, or will not accept this "reality" are either subjected
to immense pressure to make them accept it or, worse still, are completely
outcast.
The so-called "leaders" of this world have become so arrogant
that they believe they can alter the laws of nature to suit their own
purposes. We are now starting to see the results of this arrogance in
the form of earthquakes, volcanoes, tidal waves, and the increase in
the number of fires, floods and other natural disasters.
It is in the midst of all this chaos that we find more and more people
becoming restless and dissatisfied with material values, sensing the
need for radical changes to their lifestyle. They are also becoming
aware of the existence of a more satisfying, more purposeful and meaningful
way of life although they don't know (yet) how to find it.
The start of the Aquarian age brings with it more and more Lightworkers
banding together all round the world with the express purpose of providing
the answers being sought by the ever growing mass of those becoming
tired and disillusioned with the materialistic way of life. Using information
being channelled by the ascended masters and those beings from the angelic
realm who have been chosen especially for this purpose, these answers
are beginning to circulate more and more widely. So, with the beginning
of the new century comes hope - hope for a better way. A way where people
will learn to work together and also to have due respect for the other
forms of life who have just as much right to share this planet in a
state of peace and Love.
More and more voices are being raised, including the voice of mother
Gaia herself, to stop this senseless plunder of our neighbours, whether
they be animal, vegetable or mineral.
The time for change has arrived and it needs to be started NOW!
5. AND FINALLY ...
PRAYING FOR GIFTS
Two young boys were spending the night at their grandparents. At bedtime,
the two boys knelt beside their beds to say their prayers when the youngest
one began praying at the top of his lungs, "I PRAY FOR A NEW BICYCLE.
I PRAY FOR A NEW NINTENDO. I PRAY FOR A NEW VCR..." His older brother
leaned over and nudged the younger brother and said, "Why are you
shouting your prayers? God isn't deaf." To which the little brother
replied, "No, but Gramma is!"
A CHRISTMAS PRAYER - A CHILD'S VIEW
Snowflakes softly falling
Upon your window play,
Your blankets snug around you,
into sleep you drift away.
I bend to gently kiss you,
when I see that on the floor
There's a letter, neatly written,
I wonder who it's for.
I quietly unfold it
making sure you're still asleep,
It's a Christmas list for Santa--
one my heart will always keep.
It started just as always
with the toys seen on TV,
A new watch for your father
and a winter coat for me.
But as my eyes read on
I could see that deep inside
There were many things you wished for
that your loving heart would hide.
You asked if your friend Molly
could have another dad;
It seems her father hits her
and it makes you very sad.
Then you asked dear Santa if
the neighbors down the street
Could find a job, that he might have
some food, and clothes, and heat.
You saw a family on the news
whose house had blown away;
"Dear Santa, send them just one thing
a place where they can stay."
"And Santa, those four cookies
that I left you for a treat,
Could you take them to the children
who have nothing else to eat?"
"Do you know that little bear I have--
the one I love so dear?
I'm leaving it for you
to take to Africa this year."
"And as you fly your reindeer
on this night of Jesus' birth,
Could your magic bring to everyone
goodwill and peace on earth?"
"There's one last thing before you go--
so grateful I would be--
If you'd smile at Baby Jesus
in the manger by our tree."
I pulled the letter close to me;
I felt it melt my heart.
Those tiny hands had written
what no other could impart.
"And a little child shall lead them,"
was whispered in my ear
As I watched you sleep on Christmas Eve
while Santa Claus was here.
