Numerology
& House Numbers
How
does numerology relate to your house number?
All
numbers have an "energy value" and therefore the number
of your house has a certain "energy value" associated
with it. Numbers greater than 9 are first reduced to their single
form to determine the overall "value". For example,
the number 35 is reduced to a single digit by adding the 3 and
5 together to make 8. So a house number of 8 (or 17 or
26 or 35 etc..) all have the same basic "energy".
In
this case the number
8 equates to being in control of your life, assertive, good
with finances, although it can also indicate a domineering or
controlling nature, where the energy is negative rather than
positive. The people living in the house might be influenced
in this way and take on either positive or negative aspects
of this energy.
This
is not the whole picture, because the individual numbers which
make up the house number (in our example 3 and 5) also have
an influence and so the 8 vibration is modified slightly to
include the energy of the 3 and the energy of the 5.
The
3 being the first number will be more prominent and may add
fun or mental alertness or perhaps mean the dominant or controlling
person in the household is also argumentative! The 5 will also
add a component to this and either emphasise freedom and travel,
where positive vibrations are experienced, or conversely someone
might feel trapped and suppressed if one person is being domineering.
Where
the same number is repeated such as in House Number 222, this
will emphasise the effect of the number
2 much more. In this case the number reduces to 6 emphasising
the importance of the home and family in this house, as well
as creativity. The triple 2's emphasising particularly sensitivity
and awareness of the environment in the home. In a negative
aspect, this might indicate emotional turmoil or hypersensitivity.

House
Names can also be reduced to a number and therefore the numerological
"value" determined. This is done by converting each
letter into a number by looking them up in the following table.
So A = 1, B = 2 and so on.

Then
the resulting numbers are added together and reduced down
to a single digit. For example, the name 'DUNROMIN' would
be equivalent to 4 + 3 + 5 + 9 + 6 + 4 + 9 + 5 = 45. This
can be reduced further to the single digit 9 (i.e. 4 + 5
= 9). So the numerological value of 'DUNROMIN' is the number
9, which emphasises completion and endings. Interestingly,
the choice of name suggests that the occupants have finished
their travelling and they intend this to be their final
home.

The
following table lists the general meanings associated with each
number. There is a positive and a negative side to each number,
for example a 2 can indicate sensitivity and awareness to the
feelings of others although it can also mean wearing others
emotions and hypersensitivity to surroundings.

What
relevance does it have to your life?
Overall,
a person's own energy is generally stronger than the influence
of a particular house and the other occupants in the house
will also be a factor in the equation, as they all interact.
So, while there is some relevance to studying the numerological
value of the house you live in, your own personal energy is
much more important and will be by far outweigh the influence
of the house.
However,
where choice is available, such as in naming your home,
then understanding the principles of numerology might
help you to choose a name that aligns with your own personality
and your own aims in life. Similarly, if you find yourself
always living in the same numbered house, then there may
be a hidden reason that is affecting your choice and numerology
can help you get to the root of this.
